Brother-in-law

I meet Andrew shortly after meeting his beautiful sister Fiona. The first time I meet Andrew, Colin & Jeanette was an uncomfortable one! Fiona and I were driving along, admiring houses when a car leapt out of nowhere in front of Fiona and... well anyway, that bought Andrew into the picture.

He arrived to rescue Fiona. me and her vehicle and take us back to Fiona's parents house. After meeting the wonderful Colin & the beautiful Jeanette, it was time to go. Saying our goodbyes in the drive way, Andrew drove off yelling out thru the window to his Dad ' And if you think I'm waiting for you to pass to get my inheritance, you've got another thing coming!'

I was taken aback, but after much laughter from all, I now realise this was one of the many happy hours of laughing that Andrew would bring every time I met him over 3 decades.

The whole Eckert family welcomed me as a son and Andrew as a shorter brother.

Andrew has gifted so many people with his Love, Humor, Kindness & Grace and we will miss him greatly. Our children Keifer & Damon loved Andrew with a passion. He was always up for a joke or advice for them - whatever Andrew could make them smile with.Or some friendly text message banter between a much loved Uncle and his Nephews.

Or the constant phone calls between Andrew and Fiona trying to sort everyone out for family gatherings.

Andrew has left a wonderful legacy in the strength of his family. Sally, Rachael & Harry will forever mourn Andrew, but take strength from the man they called Husband & Dad

You are one of a kind Andrew and we miss you. Thanks for memories.
