88 Alexanders

It was such a long time ago however this memory is so vivid in my mind as though it were yesterday.

A few of us were very lucky to be invited to join Andy and sally on a wine tasting weekend in the Clare Valley so we all decided to book into Tatum's in Auburn, a gorgeous general store restaurant and horse stable accommodation run by Russell and David our flamboyant and theatrical hosts.

After a day of cellar Door and Pub visits we booked in for dinner and the boys gave us the private glassed in area in the restaurant, clearly anticipating the volume of our conversation to come - they were right.

The 12 bottles of wine that we had brought with us to last the weekend were consumed hat night as we became more animated by the minute (Andy was the loudest i promise) - as our hosts ushered out their last guest they then asked if they could join us as we seemed to be having \an absolute blast' - so we continued very late into the night having and memorable night that will continue to stay with me forever and make me smile.

I vividly remember a late night rambling conversation with Andy about all things wine and strangely i still remember his favorite wine of the night - the 1988 Mildara Alexanders Bordeaux blend.

Andy once again Andy was the larger than life catalyst who gathered a group of people together to create a memory that they would never forget - i am searching for an 88 Alexanders to quietly sip and remember a great man that we have lost.
